Why is the New Jersey Online Gambling Industry Ahead of Nevada?

As many of you know, Nevada was one of the first states in the US to regulate and legalize online gambling. They are responsible for paving the way for other states such as Delaware and New Jersey in the legislative debate for online gambling. Recent industry analysis is pointing out that Nevada might be at risk of being displaced by competing states and might be close to losing the top place of the now growing industry/
Experts report that the main threat to Nevada is New Jersey because authorities in the state have announced that they will be launching online games on November 23rd of this year and that they will not be offering only poker, like Nevada will be, but they will also add diverse casino games to the catalog.
The pressing launch date in New Jersey is a result of the regulatory authorities having prepared themselves for this moment for a long time. They have explained that they already had a strategy planned on how they would handle the issue in the event that online gambling became legalized and now they are only left to apply it.
An interview with David Rebuck, the head of New Jersey's Division of Gaming Enforcement, revealed that preparations for online gambling have been developing over years. When the Department of Justice voiced its re-interprentation of the Wire Act in December of 2011, officials in New Jersey began drafting serious proposals about how to run a legalized and regulated online gambling industry at a state level because they saw it coming.
Even though even New Jersey officials recognize that the November launch date is ambitious, but so far they say the process is running in a timely manner and without major drawbacks. The issue this poses for Nevada is that local customers are beginning to question why things are running so fast and smoothly in New Jersey, but the case doesn't seem to be the same for Nevada.
Considering that Nevada is known for being home to the Las Vegas Strip, one of the major gambling destinations in the world, it is fair to wonder why the local authorities were not prepared for regulated online gambling. The process in Nevada is running much slower and nobody has predicted a launch date that is remotely close to New Jersey's. This really sets the latter state ahead of the game, not just for customers, but for investors as well. On the other hand, Delaware already launched online casinos, so big applause for that state.
