Online Gambling in New Jersey Stands Strong
We have news for all the players in New Jersey, a recent update on the current online gambling situation revealed that the state's launch date for November still stands, even though the exact date has not been announced. The Division of Gaming Enforcement said that they are trying to meet the previously set date of November 26th, but we say it is wise to expect a margin of error of plus/minus a couple of days.
Last week the Division of gaming Enforcement expressed significant concern over the lack of information provided by the casinos seeking for an online gambling license. However, they announced that all the information required was submitted on the deadline last Friday, so regulators will begin evaluating the applications in order to grant licenses fairly soon. The formal statement read: “The division can confirm that it has received a significant amount of additional materials from the casino licensees on behalf of their Internet gaming applicants,” by spokeswoman Lisa Spengler. “The Division remains committed to meeting the statutory deadline of November 26.”
On the other hand, the Director of the Division, David Rebuck, has not given an official launch date, and it is stipulated by law that he must hive a 45 day notice before online gambling takes off in New Jersey. If the state is not ready to issue licenses and organize all protocols to launch online gambling, the law allows Rebuck to ask for an extension.
So far, nine out of the twelve casinos in Atlantic City are actively engaged in deals with software partners to develop their online casinos. The Tropicana Casino is working with Gamesys Limited, Caesars Entertainment and its four casinos are working with 888 Holdings, the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa closed the deal with bwin.party, the Resorts Casino Hotel is partering with PokerStars, the Taj Mahal Casino chose Ultimate Gaming, the Golden Nugget Atlantic City is going to offer its own brand with Bally Technologies, and the rest of the casinos have not made a public statement about their standing.
Online gambling will definitely be a huge source of revenue for these casinos and for the state of New Jersey, since all the procedures in the license application processes are complete by now, we just need to wait for the formal announcement. We will keep you in the loop, don't worry about it.
