Lucky Woman Wins $1 Million at Casino

A woman from Cleveland, Ohio in the United States made the headlines yesterday after being awarded the crazy sum of USD $1 million at a casino in her area. Heidi Briggs, a 54 year old woman, could not believe her luck as she was announced to be the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland's lucky recipient of this amazing prize.

During a visit to the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, Heidi and her husband were doing what was normal for their casino visits: playing low stakes slot machines and people watching. “We’re not high rollers by any means,” she said. Heidi has a regular day job as a high school counselor and her visits to the casino go all the way back to its launch in 2012, she says that they are always casual and full of enjoyment, and that they count as date night with her husband.

Heidi owned a total rewards card to the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, which she used to enter her name into the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland Summer Giveaway. She did not expect to hear her name when the USD $1 million prize winner was announced, and even after hearing it she stood there in disbelief. “I think I stood up, I sat down, I stood up. I didn’t know what to do it was just, I couldn’t believe it was true,” she said.

The couple stood at the casino questioning their luck when the casino manager found her among the big excited crowd and everyone started cheering and chanting her name. Heidi says her life has been changed forever, but that her lifestyle will not change despite the big sum. Heidi Braggs plans to keep her job as a high school counselor, and she explained the money willl go towards paying their mortgage, retirement savings, and to her two daughters and granchildren.

The winner's daughters also had a hard time believing the news, as their father told them: “When my husband told them, they were shocked. They thought he was pulling their leg.” However, now there is no room for doubt as Heidi is the proud owner of a giant check with $1 million written on it.
