App Store Designs New Guidelines for Gambing Apps

The tightening of gambling regulations in several parts of the world have influenced how many companies make decisions about their products. News broke this week that Apple is setting norms in place to tighten its stance on gambling apps designed for their products. The move has resulted in a new release of the App Store Review guidelines which includes new standards and regulations concerning gambling apps specifically.
The company has stated that these steps were taken in order to ensure legality, fairness and user privacy for those types of apps. They are also aware that the standards for these type of apps have to follow rulings concerned with age verification and local regulations. One of their main concerns is blocking access of gambling apps for underage customers, and they have already enforced rules to prevent it in the new version of the App store Review Guidelines.
The new guidelines make a point that apps providing real money gaming (including, but not limited to, sports betting, poker, horse racing, and casino games), must provide proof of the required licensing and permissions from the locations where the app will be used. Once that step is completed, the app will be restricted to those locations alone and it will be available for free download on the App store. Even though the limitations are strict, at least those who will be able to enjoy these apps won't have to pay to acquire it, so that's a plus.
Furthermore, it is stated in the guidelines that apps can ask for your date of birth for the sole purpose of age verification and children's privacy statutes, which are applied to all apps with the ability to share a minor's personal information. Even though it seems like the guidelines are much stricter, now everyone can be certain that gambling apps are fully regulated and legally compliant, and that they will respect your privacy and hold high standards for responsible and fair gaming.
A lot of gambling apps have been released lately, All Slots released their mobile casino app for the UK and other casinos have launched Blackjack and Roulette apps. These apps will also have to comply to the new guidelines, and meet the regulations. If you are already using those apps, you might experience a few changes and might be asked to provide details on your date of birth.
