When this happens, the last symbol in any winning combination will be split in two and will count as two symbols. If the A symbol appears on Reels 1, 2 and 3 in an enabled payline and the Blade Split symbol appears on Reel 5, then the A symbol in Reel 3 will be split in two and the payout will correspond to four A symbols. In this way you can have up to six symbols per payline from five reels only. The payout table in Playtech Blade gives the payouts for each symbol up to six of a kind. However the defining feature of Playtech Archer is the Expand & Split feature, which splits symbols in a way different from Blade. Symbols may appear on the reels with an arrow border. When they are part of a winning combination and there is the scatter symbol also on the reels, these symbols will expand vertically over all three rows. However they will not replace the existing symbols. The spots on the reel will split to accommodate both symbols. Then either or both the symbols can participate in winning combinations.
