Draw poker games are those in which you can replace cards from dealt hands to form new ones. At online casinos video poker variants are the best examples of draw poker. Microgaming and Realtime Gaming offer Caribbean Draw Poker in their table games category, which also lets you replace cards.

The article first describes the game play in Microgaming Caribbean Draw Poker and then lists the difference in the Realtime Gaming version. The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. You begin by placing the ante bet. When you activate the game, you will be dealt five cards face up and the dealer will be dealt one card face up and four cards face down. You then choose one from three options. You can stand with the same hand and place a play bet equal to twice the ante bet. You can select up to two cards for replacement by clicking on them. The replacement is made by the software and the play bet is automatically placed as indicated above. Or you can fold, in which case you lose the ante wager without seeing the dealer’s hand.

If you decide to play on, the dealer’s full hand is exposed. The dealer automatically changes up to two cards according to rules built into the software. The dealer needs a pair of eights or better in order to qualify. If the dealer does not qualify then you win even money for the ante bet and the play bet pushes. If the dealer qualifies then the two hands are compared. If your hand is lower ranking then you lose both the bets. If your hand is higher ranked, then the ante bet pays even money and the play bet pays as per a payout table, which grades the payouts as per the hand rankings. One pair with eights or better pays even money. Royal flush pays 100 to 1.

Microgaming Caribbean Draw Poker has an optional side bet that must be wagered up front. It pays out according to another payout table based on the original dealt hand before drawing. The payout table starts with 4 to 1 payout for a two pair and goes to 2,500 to 1 payout for a straight flush with the progressive jackpot for a royal flush. Realtime Gaming Caribbean Draw Poker is identical, except for the optional side bet payout table. This starts with a 75 to 1 payout for a flush and goes to 10% of the progressive jackpot for a straight flush with the full progressive jackpot for a royal flush.
