Betsoft is an online casino games supplier well-known for its 3D video slots. But it offers the other table games as well that are equally innovative. One of them is a series of online video poker variants called Pyramid Video Poker. You have all the common variants in this format, like Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild.

The five initial cards are dealt in the structure of a pyramid. It is for this reason that the game is called Pyramid Poker. Normally in video poker games you play one hand only against one payout table. In Pyramid Poker you play three different payout tables with the same five cards using three different hands. The main one is for a five-card hand using all five cards. The other two tables are for three-card video poker hands. One is for the first three cards (or the left side of the pyramid) and the other is for the last three cards (or the right side of the pyramid). You have to place three separate bets for three hands by default. Therefore your bet will be 3, 6, 9, 12 or 15 coins, with one third for each payout table.

The Jacks or Better variant is taken as an example to explain how the Pyramid Poker payout tables work. The five-card payout table is the usual Jacks or Better one. For the sake of completion, the sequence is given in ascending order: jacks or better, two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush and royal flush. Four-card and five-card winning combinations are not possible in three-card hands. The sequence for the three-card hands is as follows: jacks or better, flush, straight, three of a kind, straight flush and mini royal flush. Mini royal flush is A, K and Q of the same suit. The two three-card tables have different payouts.

The highest total payout from three tables for a wager of 15 coins is 4600 coins. This is obtained from a hand of suited A, K, Q, J and 10 in the same sequence. In Pyramid Poker the sequence becomes importance. This is not so in regular online video poker variants. The left table pays 500 coins for a mini royal flush, the five-card table pays 4,000 coins for a royal flush and the right table pays 100 coins for a straight flush. Test the game out in the free play mode.
